Beginning Tunisian Crochet with Detroit Knots

Join our special guest Natalie Thomas of Detroit Knots for Beginning Tunisian Crochet! No knitting or crochet experience necessary.

In this workshop, you will learn about Tunisian crochet hooks and how to hold them when working Tunisian stitches. Natalie will then show you how to work the Tunisian foundation row, by opening and closing stitches, which is the basis for all Tunisian crochet projects. You'll learn the basic Tunisian stitches - the Tunisian Simple Stitch, Tunisian Knit Stitch, and Tunisian Purl Stitch - and the fabrics these stitches can create. This workshop will focus on the Tunisian Simple Stitch and the Tunisian Purl Stitch. You'll learn how to bind off and all about seaming as well.

Materials needed include one color of any smooth worsted or DK weight yarn, and a Tunisian (afghan) crochet hook size J (6.5mm) or K (6.5mm) with a 16" cord. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you have about the supplies needed.
