It's time to make a shawl for fall! This is the perfect class to cast on that shawl you've been wanting to make, but maybe you were hoping for some guidance along the way. This is a great time to flex what you already know and learn something new on the way! Hilary will be on hand to help you with whatever you desire to accomplish next. Please note that you should be very comfortable with knitting basics, including casting on, knitting and purling.

This class takes place over three 2-hours sessions, beginning Saturday, October 4th. You can choose any shawl you want to make! As always, Hilary has some suggestions, listed in the order shown in the photo:

Simplicity in Motion by Marci Marra Designs - Explore colorwork without the complexity. Learn how to knit mosaic patterns (with one color at a time) while combining two colors in this fully symmetrical piece.

I Can Knit Myself Flowers by Malia Mae - This one is for you if you want to have fun with fades. Textured stitches using slip stitches, increases, decreases and more will definitely keep you interested throughout this one.

Tessellation Shawl by Emma Vining - Play with knits and purls to create interesting shapes and textures using just one color throughout. This one is knit on a simple bias to create and overall asymmetrical shape.

Tis the Season Wrap by Twin Stitches Designs - Have fun striping colors in a simple garter stitch shawl with basic shaping techniques. This one is great if you want to play with lots of colors and/or mini skeins.

King of Clubs Wrap by Mother of Purl - This knitting pattern is perfect for intermediate knitters, featuring a mix of stripes, colorwork, and mosaic techniques worked flat to create a unique wrap that can also be worn as a hood or convertible piece.

Oort Cloud Shawl by Gotham Knits - This boomerang shape shawl is knit from one corner out with double increases on one side and decreases on the other side. This one is perfect if you want to play with blending different colors and fibers.

Classes are for adults and young adults aged 16 years or older.

Please note that we have a one-week rescheduling policy and that classes and workshops are non-refundable. We will happily reschedule you for another class or allot store credit if we are notified of any conflict at least one week in advance.

We cannot guarantee make-ups for no-shows or cancellations within one week. Classes with low attendance may be cancelled and rescheduled in which case, we will offer a credit for a future class or a full refund.
