Luxe Box

What is it?

At each year's end, we put together a fun mystery box for our customers to open early the following year. This is intentionally done AFTER the holiday season, with a distribution in mid to late-January, which gifts a lovely post-holiday surprise at a much-needed time for many of you and your loved ones!

What to know before ordering:

Each box contains anywhere from about ten to twenty surprise gifts, wrapped with sequential numbers. You can open them all at once or space them out as long as you like. We've had customers spread it out over six months! The experience is yours and you should make it what you want it to be.

Yarn (of your color choice) and a mystery knit-along are part of the box. This new design will be released one month after the boxes are distributed. This year's yarn is a very soft medium weight wool, and the pattern is a rectangular scarf/wrap. Please remember that you don't have to do the KAL and that the yarn can also be used for the knitting/crochet/weaving/etc project of your choice. We will be happy to help with ideas once you've opened everything!

• sensational slates = cool grays

• plum perfection = slightly reddish purples

• cream & cocoa = cream & warm taupes

• rich rubies = coral pinks & deep reds

• golden greens = bronze & moss? tough to describe, but beautiful!

Everything else is a surprise...

Also in the box will be a variety of accessories and treats, some yarn-related, some from local businesses, and some things we just know you'll love! In the past, we've included things like stitch markers, lip balms, pom poms, wool soap, project bags, tea, chocolate... we could go on and on. (talk about a journey with the yarn and accessories)

Boxes must be pre-ordered and our order window closes Sunday, November 16th. The flat shipping rate for each box is $10, and pick-up is free, of course. Boxes will be available to be picked up and shipped in mid to late-January of 2026.

A note from Hilary:

Last year was our last Box of Cheer because, well, I really wasn't sure what was next. Sometimes I get in my head about not being able to keep it new and exciting, which is admittedly kind of ridiculous because year after year, I've found so much inspiration in so many places. This coming January will be our first ever booth at Vogue Knitting Live in NYC and will be the first time I've taken the shop on the road. I'm equally terrified and excited, and I convinced myself that I needed to spend the holiday months focusing on that, and not the Box of Cheer. And last years box got a lot of rave reviews, so why not end on a high note, right?

But... I just can't not do it. This experience for you is also an experience for me, an experience that means the world to me. People know know me really well know how much I have always loved gift-giving. It's a part of who I am!

Many of you have shared your stories about what the box means to you. That you look forward to it every year. Many of you open it with a friend or family member, even long-distance. One year, a customer shared with me that she "won Christmas" by gifting our Box of Cheer to her mother. I heard from many of you that the surprise really cheered you up during what can be a very depressing time of year. One lovely customer who experienced the loss of a loved one reached out to let me know that the box brought her much comfort during a difficult time of her life. And now I'm crying.

The point is that I realized is that the annual box isn't just a box, it's a meaningful experience. That's why I am excited to present our new Luxe Box!
