Congrats, you are officially a crocheter now! You have learned the single crochet stitch and how to start and finish a project. So what's next?
Our part 2 class is specifically designed to teach you several new techniques that will really take you to the next level, where you can then start branching out in the direction you want to go. After a refresher of starting your work with a slipknot and chains, you will learn the double crochet stitch and practice it. This, along with the single crochet learned in part 1, are two of the most fundamental stitches in the craft!
The project for this class is a basic triangular shawl. Besides learning the very important double crochet stitch and becoming more comfortable on a smaller hook with smaller yarn, you are going to walk away with these new skills:
• using increases to shape a triangle
• how to use locking stitch markers
• how to read a pattern and understanding the terminology/abbreviations
• how to read your work and identify where to place your stitches
• understanding the difference between when a turning chain counts as a stitch and when it does not.
Supplies needed for this class:
3 skeins The Fibre Co. &Make Aran in your choice of color
Size I/9 crochet hook
Locking Stitch Markers (if desired)
If you come in 10-15 minutes before class, we are happy to show you the best options and help you get the supplies you need.
