Congrats, you are officially a knitter now! You have learned the knit stitch and how to cast on and bind off. So what's next?
Our part 2 class is specifically designed to teach you several new techniques that will really take you to the next level, where you can then start branching out in the direction you want to go. After a refresher of casting on and the knit stitch, you will learn the purl stitch and practice it. Once you know the knit and purl stitches, you've mastered both foundation stitches!
The project for this class is a basic triangular shawl. Besides learning the very important purl stitch and becoming more comfortable on smaller needles with smaller yarn, you are going to walk away with these new skills:
• how to use circular needles and knit back and forth on them
• using increases to shape a triangle
• how to use stitch markers
• how to read a pattern and understanding the terminology/abbreviations
• how to read your work and identify the right and wrong side
• understanding the difference between stockinette and garter stitch patterns
