Sashiko for Making and Mending teaches you the technique of sashiko stitching to mend tears, fix things like fraying cuffs, and create unique accessories that are both stylish and functional. This book allows you to embrace the visible mending trend by repairing your high-quality accessories instead of resorting to cheap replacements. It also offers instructions for 15 handmade projects, such as beautiful indigo pouches, a rustic linen book cover, versatile cotton stoles, a sophisticated tote bag, and much more.

About the Author:
Saki Iiduka, a seasoned industry expert and graduate from a university painting program, spent a decade living in the countryside of Yamagata, Japan. During this time, she carefully observed traditional practices and embraced sustainability. Using sashiko techniques, she transformed old and recycled fabrics into everyday items, truly embodying the essence of the craft. She currently resides in Gunma with her family, running a café and studio, hosting sashiko workshops, and selling her own handcrafted pieces.

Hardcover, 80 pages. 15 projects with variations, over 100 color photos and 45 diagrams.
