A play on both colors and numbers, this pattern uses the subtle gradient of Urth Yarns Spiral Grain Sport with the bright solid colors of Movers & Makers Wicker Park Sport. In a choose-your-own adventure-style pattern, knitters can play with color and shadow knitting, creating your own unique shawl!
Our Shadow Color Shawl is knit from side-to-side and increases gradually before decreasing back, resulting in a long shawl that wraps like a scarf, layering all of the color sections on top of each other. It's so easy to make, you can just have fun with it! The adventure Hilary chose for our sample used the contrast color minis in order and reversed the second gradient. The contrast colors and the gradient never match up in the same place, so each section is completely different, as well as visibly different depending on the angle you are viewing it from.
Our sample uses the kit colorway Juniper Pop and we can't wait to see how someone using the same bundle comes up with a new variation! If this bundle isn't for you, we've got other options: Sugar Pine Jewels, Steel Magnolia, and Crabapple Blast. You can shop them all right here!
