Discover the art of hand embroidery while creating your perfect farmers market bag! This two-hour interactive embroidery workshop is taught by special guest artist & instructor, Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ.

You will be introduced to basic hand embroidery techniques including the long and short satin stitch, reverse chain stitch, stem stitch, and French knot. With a variety of thread colors and vegetable designs to choose from, you can personalize your own tote bag during the class. Attendees are required to bring their own tote bag to embroider during the session.

This special guest workshop is non-refundable and cannot be made up at a later date. If you find you are not able to come, you may transfer your registration to another student.

About Melissa:

Fiber Artist Melissa Galbraith is the creator of MCreativeJ. Growing up in the Washington desert, her mother instilled in her a passion for handmade crafts at an early age. Melissa now shares her love for nature through her charming and contemporary hand embroidery kits, patterns, workshops, and books.

With embroidery being like "coloring with a needle and thread," Melissa found it to be the perfect creative outlet away from her monotonous desk job. She discovered that many craft enthusiasts wanted to learn embroidery, but didn't know where to start. This led her to share her expertise in hand embroidery through her creations and her workshops. It brings Melissa joy to see others fall in love with this needle art form, especially when they have that magical "ah-ha" moment of learning something new. Melissa is also a member of NAMTA, Museum Art Store Association, and the Society for Embroidered Work. Melissa has been featured in various publications and her work has been recognized by the Woodlawn Needlework Exhibition.
